Disable the Caps, Num and Scroll lock keys when needed

If you are anything like me, you probably end up pressing the caps lock key in the least appropriate moments. NumLocker can help you avoid this.

NumLocker is a small, straightforward and efficient program that prevents Caps lock, Num lock and Scroll lock keys from accidentally being pressed and used when they are not wanted.

Installation, set-up and usage of NumLocker couldn’t be simpler: the program unobtrusively sits in your system tray and is managed via the menu that opens when you right-click on the icon. There is no user interface to speak of, but with a program as basic as NumLocker, that’s really not a problem.

If you are used to pressing the Caps lock key to get single capital letters, say at the beginning of a proper noun, NumLocker could take a little getting used to as it completely disables the function of the Caps lock, Num lock and Scroll lock keys. You can, of course, re-enable these functions in a mouseclick.

NumLocker is a simple, small tool that prevents you from accidentally pressing the Caps lock, Num lock and Scroll lock keys.

User reviews about NumLocker

by Melchior Hof

Since switched to Win11 NumLocker does not work anymore! It worked fairly well for me on Win10.

by Viktor Yurchenko

The application is hidden by default on Win10. To find it you should go to Personalization -> Taskbar -> Other system tray icons and switch the icon on. After that it appears in the taskbar and you can setup NumLocker as you wish.

Well, right off of the bat i think it sucks. I can't even activate it without signing up for a "free trial" of Microsoft 368 which turns into$99 a month after 30 days. If I wanted Microsoft 365 I would by the damned thing . Now that I read the reviews for it, I wonder why in the Hell Softpedia even offers such crap. I am sick and tired of having my time wasted by such crap. You try something that is supposed to make your life easier and it just causes you frustration and lost time. I should have known that it would be a half hour lost. I should have known that I would lose a half hour, due to the fact that I can't let crap like this go without expressing my RAGE at those who perpetrate such B.S. Sincerely, Larry Boydston.

It doesn't work for me on Win 10 19044.1526 I have right clicked NumLock in the System Tray and tried all options, but none of it works.

In theory it's good but it fails to open and I can't access any menu to adjust settings on my Windows 10 laptop

by John Quinn

Documentation says it can "Start with Windows", but it doesn't and there is no switch or checkbox available in the setup wizard that enables such. So you have to remember to use the setup wizard each time you start your device. Not convenient.

Softonic

In Softonic we scan all the files hosted on our platform to assess and avoid any potential harm for your device. Our team performs checks each time a new file is uploaded and periodically reviews files to confirm or update their status. This comprehensive process allows us to set a status for any downloadable file as follows:

Clean

It’s extremely likely that this software program is clean.

What does this mean?

We have scanned the file and URLs associated with this software program in more than 50 of the world's leading antivirus services; no possible threat has been detected.

Warning

This software program is potentially malicious or may contain unwanted bundled software.

Why is the software program still available?

Based on our scan system, we have determined that these flags are possibly false positives.

What is a false positive?

It means a benign program is wrongfully flagged as malicious due to an overly broad detection signature or algorithm used in an antivirus program.

We’d like to highlight that from time to time, we may miss a potentially malicious software program. To continue promising you a malware-free catalog of programs and apps, our team has integrated a Report Software feature in every catalog page that loops your feedback back to us.

Flag any particular issues you may encounter and Softonic will address those concerns as soon as possible.
